It's time to go back to work

I've been slacking... really, really slacking. It's been summer and weekends are busy, and with the nice weather, who wants to be indoors and there's Bachelor Pad and So you think you can dance, and a whole host of other excuses.

And so four months has gone by and I have precious little to show for it. So now it's back to work, page counts and weekly goals and being held accountable, because without it, I don't get anything done.

And I'm pretty sure the rest of my critique group is right there with me.

So who else has been slacking this summer?

And has anyone else read The Girl of Fire and Thorns. I devoured it, loved every moment with a crazy passion and immediately after reading the end, went to the author website to see when the next book is coming out. It might be my favourite YA since The Hunger Games.

I've been totally slacktastic. I turned in a book in June and have hardly written a word since. We'll see how it goes when I get my nose back to the grindstone!

I have done NOTHING since pretty much the end of June. NOTHING!!! Got a little done this week - hit 20,000 on the new manuscript and it's awful - now another two weeks off and THEN! THEN! Back to work!

You slackers! I had to bust my butt to meet an 8/1 deadline (which of course I missed by 2 weeks.)

Now I've got 3 chapters due by 9/1!

But I am taking this weekend off to recharge. Heading to the beach for a day with like 3 books and I will not be thinking about writing anything!

I've been trying to write this summer. But between judging contests and the RWA confrence and panicking about my release... I've fallen behind. Oh, and sweating. I did a lot of sweating.

But I crossed the 30K mark yesterday. I wanted to be done by the end of August (okay, originally before RWA) but at least it's moving again.
