Christmas/Holiday Stories

What's your favorite movie that tends to be shown this time of year? (Or do you like to read this time of year.)

I'd have to first cite Molly's fabulous novella "The Christmas Eve Promise" in the anthology, THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, which won the RITA this summer. Think I re-read it right now. :)

My other fav is the movie, A Christmas Story. Despite the one big flaw that the kid's glasses were so much more 80's than 50's....), that movie cracked me up so much when I first saw it and I still haven't tired of it after at least a dozen viewings. How about you? Any favs?

Mine was that old Scrooge - so scary to me. I have never actually seen A Christmas Story - I should change that this year. My kids are loving The Grinch who Stoel Christmas and Frosty the Snowman. I worry about those old cartoons, because the changes in animation make those cartoons look pretty dull - but they hold up. Mick loves the Grinch.

I am also comitted to seeing a Christmas Story - beginning to end (I've only ever seen parts) this year.

I made a deal with my lunch buddy. He watches It's a Wonderful Life - I watch Christmas Story.

We'll see who enjoys which more.

It's A Wonderful Life is one I've never seen from beginning to end. I think that one is more of an American tradition. Not that people up here don't watch it... It just wasn't a movie I grew up watching or knowing about.

I love those old stop motion animations, too...

The Ref. Or maybe Bad Santa. Okay. I have an eensy soft spot for Love Actually. The rest of them make me want to hyperventilate.

I LOVE... Love Actually.

Greatest line in a movie ever... "Let's go get the shit kicked out of us by love."

I'll definitely have to watch that...

I Love Love Actually too. Some of the best moments in that movie, some of the best little moments that say so much. Of course some totally over the top ridiculous moments too - but that's fun.

BAd Santa makes my husband laugh until he cries every year.

You know, Molly, I'm sensing a trend. I think I need to hang out and watch TV with your husband.
