In Preparation for the New Year...

So every year I make a list of things I want to accomplish in the next year. Usually stupid mundane things, get my carpet’s cleaned, take golf lessons, learn French… that kind of thing. I’m horrible at resolutions so I’ve basically just given those up.

I always want to eat better, drink less, exercise and write more. Since they are a given – I don’t even bother to write them down anymore.

Last year I had one very big goal which I finally accomplished at the end of the year. The Toronto DWT girls will remember my adventurous trip to San Francisco.

For 2012 though I’ve been floundering. This is what I have so far…

1. I want a repeat of my adventures in San Francisco – any city is fine.
2. I want to write 3 books.
3. I want to start a face care regime. Because at 41 let’s face it, every woman needs a face care regime.

That’s it. Seems pretty pathetic. I don’t know if it’s because as I get older I find that I’ve done a lot of things I’ve already wanted to do, or if I’m just particularly unmotivated this year.

I don’t know which is more depressing.

Anyway I figured I would throw it out to all of you – any resolutions or plans for the new year? Any hobbies you find yourself wanting to take up? This way I can steal from all of you.

And don’t forget the chance to win an Amazon $20 gift certificate is still out there. Leave a comment on any blog post from now until January 5th. I plan to just pick a random day, and from there a random comment.

WHAT HAPPENED IN SAN FRANCISCO? Inquiring minds want to know.

My resolution is to go out to bars to hear music with my boyfriend more often. I know it sounds easy, but you have no idea how much I'd rather sit on my couch wearing stretchy pants and drinking red wine.

Hmm, I'd like to know too, lol.

Desperate for information on changing bad habits or more accurately developing good ones (like your face regime--sheesh, did I spell that right).

Anyway, I googled and found it takes 21 days, 30 , 90, 180 depending on the site to change a behavior. So I made up my own behavior modification plan.

When I want to make a change or try something new I give over 30 minutes for 30 days, hoping it sticks.

To that end I'd suggest finding an extra 15 minutes in the morning and 15 at night for your face and see how that goes.

A lady never tells... she just alludes to make her seem cooler than she really is :)

Eileen - I'm with you. Stretchy pants and red wine.

And Rogenaa - I like it. Spending 30 minutes on my face seems ridiculous. 15 - that's doable.

Stephanie, I for one, am hoping for lots more adventures for you, especially like the one in San Fran.

Eileen, my stretchy pants and I are comfortable with each other.

Boy sorry guys - Christmas totally swallowed me!!

I started a skin care regime, me the laziest woman in the world - Arbonne - expensive yes - did it work, I think so. I really do - my skin looks way way better. and it's not fifteen minutes, it's like five. so - check it out!

I love the live music idea - I totally agree with you - I'm going to open that up to more going out that doesn't involve just eating and drinking my face off. More movies, readings, music, perhaps a play or two. I've been in this strange little inspiration slump and I think it's because I live in a cave...

There are like three people trying to sell me Arbonne these days. Is it really that good? Should I relent?
