My son is six years old today

I can't seem to think past the fact that Mick has been around for six years. It's one of those weird time splits - seems like it's been about five minutes while at the same time it feels like he's been around forever.

I'm literally up to my eyeballs in Lego.

It's so strange how my career started to work just as he was born. I started writing consistently for Superromance with the amazing Wanda Ottewell. His iron clad schedule made my life doable and I think having only nap times to write, gave me an urgency that frankly I could use right now.

It also freed me from the idea that I had to do everything. And I think that's served me well as our family and my career has grown. I don't bake. I don't clean. I don't do my own website. I don't make bookmarks and in an exciting development - I hired a publicist.

That's right - soon, I will be branded. Which I'm pretty excited about, to tell you the truth.

But that's really all I've got this morning. Lego and branding and my boy is six.

I should really lose that baby weight....

I can't believe he's sick either. It feels like yesterday that you told me you were expecting a baby...

I clearly remember when she told me. We were at RWA and she WASN'T drinking. I of course did not have this problem and said so eloquently that she would be a great mom... the type that would let her kid eat dirt.

That's right. Great mothers every where are letting their kids suck on rocks.

I blame the wine...

I found out Sinead was expecting her first at a conference too. Our first RWA Nationals. No margaritas? Something's up.
But if memory serves, Molly told me when we were buying popcorn at the movies. Can't remember which movie. But it was back in those heady go-to-the-movies-during-the-day days. ;)

The dirt helps them build their immune systems. You just have to make sure it's organic dirt . . . ;-)

Happy birthday to Mick, Molly. You were pregnant with him when we met and completely adorable.

Now I want to hear all about this publicist experience . . .
