It's my birthday!

And I'll apparently forget to post a blog the night before whether I want to or not. Oops!

So I'll just do a quick news update . . . Don't Kill the Messenger is now a finalist for three awards: Bookseller's Best, National Readers Choice and the Prism! I'm completely thrilled. I also got the way good news that Don't Kill the Messenger and Dead on Delivery are going to be re-released next year in mass market paperback. In an interesting twist, they're going to be published by Ace (the science fiction arm of Penguin) rather than Berkley. I'm excited to see what that might mean.

I'v been asked to join a panel on writing paranormal romance at Nationals.

I found two great dresses, one for the Pocket party and one for the Ritas and only need to buy shoes and a purse for one of them.

Oh, and seriously, it's my birthday. I was feeling a little down about it and then my niece pointed out that it's my Gold Rush year. I'm a 49-er, baby!

Happy Birthday!!!!

And can I say I'm completely jealous... not of the book success that was a given when I read DKTM and DOD...

But you have 2 new dresses for Nationals? Really???? Seriously???

That's just cruel to rub it in our faces.

Ughh... must go dress shopping tonight.

Happy birthday, Eileen and Kristen and Sinead!

Lots of May babies at DWT.

Do you think there's something about Geminis and writing?

Steph, the dress shopping was crazy serendipitous. I wasn't even looking for me. We were supposed to be shopping for a dress for my sister.

Happy Birthday, young lady! I turned -gulp - 50 on May 3, so enjoy your Gold Rush Year!

Congrats on the award noms - I'm so bummed that I'm not going to get to meet you at Nationals!

Though you never know - I might just show up unannounced at Steph's door

Blogger hates me... I have tried to post two other times today.

Eileen, congrats and happy B-day. The book is so much fun to read and deserves all the praise.

It hated me today, too Sinead. I kept getting a weird error message.

I'm actually looking forward to 50, Karen. I like the idea of saying, "Now that I'm 50 . . . " Then fill in the blank with something outrageous.

Congratulations on the mass market re-release :-) This is great for many reasons:

-Mass markets are more affordable (Confession: I bought DON'T KILL THE MESSENGER when it was bargain-priced on Amazon)

-Book 1 seemed urban fantasy to me, so I didn't understand why it was published as a romance. But I prefer urban fantasy to romance, so I was quite pleased with the book, anyway :-)

Haven't read DEAD ON DELIVERY yet. Now, to wait for bargain-pricing or mass market release? ;-)
